Q. Is Medisoft HIPAA compliant?

A. MediSoft Version 7 includes all new HIPAA compliant features. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) affects many phases of patient/provider interaction including privacy and security. Q. Is Medisoft the only software I need?

A. Yes, Medisoft is a complete practice management and medical billing software. Everything for patient, insurance, billing, and payment information is there out-of-the-box.

Q. How many users or computers can I have?

A. Medisoft comes in 2 main flavors. Medisoft Advanced Patient Accounting, designed for 1 user only. Medisoft Network professional, designed to handle up to 1000 users with the proper Advantage database license.

Q. Is Medisoft stable in Network environments?

A. Yes. Medisoft uses a SQL based database engine. The Advantage Database Server is a scalable, high performance client/server RDBMS for networked, stand-alone, Internet and mobile database applications. The Advantage Database Server supports the Windows NT/2000/XP.

Q. How many patients can I have?

A. Unlimited. Only limited by your hard disk space.

A. Unlimited.

Q. How many practices can I have?

A. Unlimited. Only limited by your hard disk space.

Q. Can I bill for more than one specialty?

Q. Can I access Medisoft from more than one location?

Q. What forms can I print with Medisoft?

A. Medisoft can print any standard medical for such as HCFA 1500 and UB92.

Q. Can Medisoft do electronic billing?

A. Yes, Medisoft comes with built-in support for electronic claims through a clearinghouse. MedUnite and other clearinghouses can process all commercial carriers as well as Medicare, Medicaid, etc. Additional modules are available for sending directly to Medicare without going through a clearinghouse.

Q. Are Electronic Claims a Requirement?

A. Electronic claims are not required, but there are many advantages associated with electronic claim filing. Health insurance carriers provide incentives like faster payment for processing insurance claims electronically, time-in-transit is reduced to speed payment, and administrative costs are lower. Claims are not now required to be processed electronically, and it is unlikely that universal electronic processing will become a requirement in the foreseeable future.
